Start Riding
Our biking infrastructure has a long way to go in the United States.  But you can start making a difference today.

Chances are you probably already own a bike and it is buried out in the garage or up in the attic somewhere.  With some air in the tires and a little oil on the chain, you could be on your way.

Start small and think big.  Start by riding around the block and then around your neighborhood.  Stay off the busy streets as much as possible.

Once you feel comfortable, try doing some basic local errands in your community, like going to the neighborhood store or post office. As you get more comfortable, add a basket or rack to your bike.  You'll be amazed at the amount that you can carry, especially with a rack in the back.
